The Distinguished Features and Long-term Objectives

 
The Distinguished Features:
  • The Department of Industrial Economics at Tamkang University is the only economics-related department in Taiwan which has recruited an academician (C. C. Mai) from Academia Sinica, Taiwan.
  • The department is ranked one of the best among Taiwan’s universities in terms of faculty’s research performance.
  • Internationalization:
    1. Holding international conferences every year cooperating with the distinguished universities in Hong Kong and Japan.
    2. Inviting foreign researchers to the department for short term visits.
    3. Co-authoring with foreign researchers.
  • The department provides financial supports to the faculty for English-editing and submission of research papers.
  • The program provides a complete course structure in Industrial Economics, while also covers fundamental courses in Management, Finance and some issues in real world practices.
  • The undergraduate program offers three major elective fields: Finance, Business Management and Information Management.
  • The Ph.D. program requires the Ph.D. students to publish at least one paper in SSCI, SCI, or Econlit index journal before graduation.
  • The department has signed an agreement with the Department of Economics, National Taiwan University for student’s inter-campus course registration.
Long-term Objectives:
  • To create a brand name for the Ph.D. program of the department.
  • To make the department become an excellent research center in industrial economics.
